Little Love Letters From God- Review and Giveaway

A little over a year ago, I had the chance to read & review Love Letters from God by author Glenys Nellist, a book we all enjoyed!

She recently wrote another book in the series called Little Love Letters from God. Her first book in the series is geared toward older kids while this new one is perfect for toddlers!

This book has 16 pages and covers 8 popular Bible stories, 4 from the old testament and 4 from the new testament. The stories span from creation to the resurrection. Each story is written in a simplified way for toddlers to understand. She took it a step further and wrote each story in a poetic rhythm that captures little ones attention as you read it.

After each story, on the accompanying page you will find a love letter from God. This is hidden under a flap the child can lift. Each letter is a short statement tying into the story that was just read. It's written in a way that the author imagines that God would talk to the child if he was sitting there personally beside them, ending the letter by reminding the child that He loves them. There is a blank line at the start of the letter that allows you to personalize the letter with the child's name.

Under the love letter is a short Bible verse that ties in with the theme of the Bible story (but necessarily from the story).

Unlike the first book that has normal paper pages, this book has much thicker pages that won't tear if a toddler is handling it. Almost like a board book but not quite as thick. The book is also smaller in size than the first book which makes it perfect for little hands to hold and turn the pages.

The illustrations, done by Sophie Allsopp, are colorful and not overly busy. Each story has a portrayal of the character that the story is about along with other objects from the story. These pictures make it easy to point out to the child as another way to talk about the story.

My favorite story in this book! The love letter & verse spoke to ME and reminded me of my son Noah in Heaven.

My 2 & 4 year old daughters really enjoyed this book. This one was perfect for their level of understanding. Little Love Letters from God is great book to start introducing Bible stories to little ones! Her other book, Love Letters from God is great for school age children!

I am honored to be a part of a 6 week blog tour about this book. Each stop has something unique, from author interviews to ideas of how to use your own love letters to bless your family.
