CHSH- Curriculum Download Club- Review

I don't know about you, but over the years as I found resources for homeschool online, I would bookmark them in a certain folder on my computer. When Pinterest came along, I created a board to save certain printables. Both though can be time consuming and hard to find when you want specific subjects. We recently had the chance to review CHSH Download Club from  CHSH-Teach.com. (CHSH stands for Christian Homeschool Hub).

CHSH is a resource that offers over 50,000 downloads and resource pages from preschool all the way through 12th grade! You can join for free as there are many free resources. To access the entire website, you can either purchase their annual subscription or a lifetime membership. Some of the subjects they cover are:

  • Bible related resources
  • Languages
  • Arts, Music, Crafts
  • Language Arts
  • Math
  • Science
  • Social Studies
  • Electives
  • Health

Under each subject, there are specific break downs that you can click on for a more detail resource. Not only can you search by subject but you can also search for downloads by grade. You can also search by month for related holiday and seasonal resources. If you can't find what you are looking for in what is already listed, there is also a search box option to help you locate what you are wanting to find.

I admit, when I first logged in I was overwhelmed with all I saw. I wasn't quite sure where to start. I did know that I was going to concentrate on my preschooler and kindergartner for the sake of the review so I went to the section for their grade level rather than the subject area. (Though I did explore the older grades as well).

As I looked over all the downloads, I noticed that the files were offered in black and white as well as color. Of course, you could adjust your printer settings if you only wanted to print in black and white.

My daughter loves to practice handwriting and she loved the "fairy themed" printables for practicing her writing of the alphabet! There were SO many options of themed units for letter writing. There was even pages for them to not only practice writing the letters but to also learn the formation of the American Sign Language letter to go along with it! (having hearing impaired children, this really appealed to us.)

Another thing to point out is there are constantly new downloads that are added all the time! I had found some printables for this past Summer Olympics even. I printed out the word search for my older kids.

My print screen only allowed me to capture a few of the listed words, there were more!

In fact, members can even upload their own resources to share with others! So you are constantly finding new things.

If my older kids didn't already have all their literature & history ready for this year, I could've easily have came up with a school years worth of work for them from CHSH. Lots of literature guides for the classic books. I also noticed for the upper grades that there were student downloads and parent/answer downloads as well.

As I was exploring the subjects, I came across a geography link that wasn't working. I found the website contact info easy to access so I sent an email giving them a heads up (as well as the link). I was impressed that in less than 24 hours, I got a personal email from them thanking me for letting them know as well as to let me know that it was fixed. Great customer service!

I know I have barely scratched the surface of all that CHSH has to offer. Check out some of their free downloads!
