Daily Bible Jigsaw - Review

I use my iPhone for all sorts of things but rarely do I use it for something fun like games. I typically am not into any ole random games. Imagine my surprise to recently have been introduced to Daily Bible Jigsaw from Planet 316. That's right, you can do puzzles electronically!

Daily Bible Jigsaw is a free app that can be accessed from Google Play (for Android devices), Apple App Store (for IOS devices), and it can also be played in the Facebook Gameroom. Daily Bible Jigsaw is exactly that, a different puzzle you put together each day. Once the puzzle is complete, a Bible verse is then laid over the picture. You even have the ability to then share the photo with the verse on Facebook!

I know, it sounds different doing puzzles on your phone iPad. There are a lot of neat features besides simply assembling a puzzle. You earn coins (or you can purchase some) to be able to use some of the game features. These features include:

  • Rotate- The puzzle pieces are all scattered in any direction. This tool turns all the pieces to face the correct way.
  • Guide- This shows you a picture of what the finished puzzle will look like.
  • Sweep- This sweeps all the puzzle pieces off to the side so you have the center of the screen open to assemble the puzzle in.
  • Magnet- This tool connects 2 pieces together which can help you if you get stuck.
  • Edges- This tool temporarily takes away the "inside" puzzle pieces, thus only showing you edges of the puzzle.

In addition to these neat features, Daily Bible Jigsaw also times you on how long it takes for you to assemble the puzzle. There are coins you can earn for how fast you put together a puzzle, how often you complete the daily puzzles on certain days, etc. While assembling the puzzle, sometimes a piece will flash. If you can get that piece connect quickly before the time bar is up, you can earn a coin that way as well.

When you log onto the app, you'll see a calendar of the current month. Each day a new puzzle will be available to play. If you missed a day, you can go back and play an older puzzle for 3 coins. Each of the daily puzzles are 30 pieces. There are also some other bonus puzzles included for free. Those consist of 56 pieces.

If you complete the puzzles every day for a month, at the end of the month another photo and verse will be revealed. You even have the ability to have a tournament with friends by playing through the Facebook platform.

All the photos are high quality pictures of scenes, kids, animals, etc. The Bible verses that are shared have been encouraging and uplifting.

I have raced myself to see how quickly I can assemble a puzzle. So far my best time has been 1 minute and 50 seconds. Using the edge & rotate tools greatly increased my speed! I'm sure if I also used the sweep tool, I could shave a bit more time off instead of manually sliding each piece away.

I've been enjoying assembling the puzzles as it is a great way to spend a small amount of time unwinding.
